About The Position

Mill Creek Academy, located in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is seeking a Technology Teacher / Coordinator for students K4-6. This role involves providing K-12 student technology instruction and ensuring the school's educational technology is operational and well-managed. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching K-8 technology classes aligned with ISTE Standards and enjoy managing technology and troubleshooting. Approximately 90% of the role will focus on student technology instruction, with 10% dedicated to building-wide technology administration and support. The instruction aims to develop future-ready, digitally literate learners capable of using technology for current assignments, preparing for high school digital workflows, and exploring emerging STEM technologies. The position also includes managing the school's educational technology and network infrastructure in partnership with NHA's IT Department, including hardware deployment, troubleshooting, managing the Clever Student Portal, and configuring Chrome settings via the Google Admin Console. The Technology Teacher / Coordinator will also serve as the State Testing Technology Coordinator and potentially as the Lead NWEA MAP Testing Proctor.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements (NHA will support alternative certification).
  • Knowledge and experience in education technologies.
  • Experience teaching K-8 technology classes using ISTE Standards.
  • Experience managing technology and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide K-12 student technology instruction.
  • Ensure educational technology at the school is operational and well-managed.
  • Teach K-8 technology classes using ISTE Standards.
  • Manage technology and perform troubleshooting.
  • Focus approximately 90% of time on student technology instruction.
  • Dedicate approximately 10% of time to building-wide technology administration and support.
  • Develop students' ability to use technology for current assignments.
  • Prepare students for the digital workflow expectations of high school.
  • Explore emerging technologies foundational to STEM careers.
  • Manage the deployment and life-cycle of NHA-provided hardware.
  • Perform intermittent troubleshooting to hardware and network infrastructure in partnership with NHA's IT Department.
  • Help students access online educational applications by managing the school’s Clever Student Portal.
  • Customize online access for students by managing Chrome settings via the Google Admin Console.
  • Act as the State Testing Technology Coordinator.
  • May be asked to act as the Lead NWEA MAP Testing Proctor.
