About The Position

Swanson Rink's growing Technology team designs the telecommunications infrastructure that supports low voltage IP based equipment, connections and technology throughout a building, or campus environment. These systems support video surveillance, access control, audio video, wireless and network infrastructures. We focus on airports, data centers and other complex buildings while working with some of the most advanced clients in the industry.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, from four-year college or university (preferred).
  • Consulting engineering experience with 5+ years of telecommunication systems design experience.
  • Knowledgeable in industry standards including TIA/EIA, BICSI and IEEE.
  • Must be available to travel occasionally.
  • Requires the ability to pass background checks, security screenings or drug testing as required by our clients and/or Federal contracts.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Design telecommunications cable infrastructure to support IP based connections including Voice, Data, Wi-Fi, Audio Visual, CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection. This includes detailed internal building layouts, as well as exterior campus connectivity.
  • Design electronic security systems including Video Surveillance and Analytics, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection.
  • Design specifications, configuration, and commissioning of large scale local, integrated, and network-based systems.
  • Regularly interact with clients, engineers, and architects, as well as construction teams to proactively solve problems.
  • Provide construction oversite, including specification and contract drawing compliance, conduct site visits and formulate construction observation reports.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technology and trends in the industry.
