About The Position

This position is for an Application Support individual within the Securities Services division at JPMorganChase. The role involves supporting a complex suite of closely interlinked applications that are central to the company's product offering and competitive advantage. Any disruption to service or inaccuracy in these applications could have an adverse impact on clients, result in reputational damage, and potentially have an adverse financial impact to the organization.

Requirements

  • Well versed with the Application Support functions.
  • Ability to resolve user and technology issues on Production instances.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining Linux/Java RDBMS based applications on cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and troubleshooting batch jobs.
  • Familiarity with Geneos Monitoring for application infrastructure and secure file transmissions.
  • Experience with coordination and execution of software deployments into Production environments.
  • Ability to develop and share specialist knowledge in relevant systems.
  • Experience liaising with application development and infrastructure teams.
  • Capability to own and resolve major production incidents.
  • Proactive approach to improving system and service quality.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
  • Strong relationship management skills with operational users and the technology department.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Linux, AWS and RDBMS based applications.
  • Python/Shell Scripting.
  • RDBMS - Oracle/MS-SQL.
  • Application Performance monitoring tools: Splunk/AppDynamic/Dynatrace/Grafana/Datadog.
  • Schedulers - Control-M / Autosys.
  • Monitoring - Geneos or similar tool.

Responsibilities

  • The resolution of all user and technology issues on the Production instance.
  • The support and maintenance of the various Linux/Java RDBMS based applications on cloud platform.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the batch jobs that are scheduled in Control-M/Autosys.
  • Geneos Monitoring - For the application infrastructure & secure file transmissions of the financially sensitive data within the JPMorgan environment and to external clients.
  • Coordination and execution of all software deployments into Production environment.
  • Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, sharing that knowledge with team members and global partners.
  • Liaising with application development and infrastructure teams targeting on-going development, production activity and release management.
  • Ownership of major production incidents, working closely with other technology teams in order to resolve business-impacting issues.
  • Pro-actively improving the quality of systems and service, and increase business value.
  • Bringing a DevOps mind-set to the entire software development life cycle, building, evolving and operating rapidly-changing resilient systems at scale.
  • Manage the relationship between the operational users and the technology department. This involves organizing weekly service review meetings and being a key point of escalation for technology issues or concerns within the operational areas.
