About The Position

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. Financial Planning and Analytics Services (FPAS) is a key Finance function within the Office of the Chief Finance Office (CFO) that supports each Line of Business CFO and the Firmwide CFO. We are a data engineering team responsible for financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic oversight. Our Applications, Platforms and Data based and are on a combination of On-Premise (Linux), Private Cloud (Kubernetes) and Public cloud (AWS). We manage batch jobs running to a Business Day Calendars that Extracts, Transforms and Loads (ETL) data for critical processes within the firm. As a Technology Support III team member at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational stability, availability, and performance of our production application flows. Your efforts in troubleshooting, maintaining, identifying, escalating, and resolving production service interruptions for all internally and externally developed systems support a seamless user experience and a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
  • Possess 3+ years of experience, ideally working with Data/Python applications in Production environment.
  • Experience in programming or scripting language (Python).
  • Experience working with containers and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with automation tool/solution such as Ansible, Autosys, Control-M etc.
  • Experience with cloud platform (preferably AWS) in setting up infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Exposure to observability and monitoring tools and techniques
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant advantage to have experience supporting applications on platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or AWS EMR (Databricks preferred).
  • Significant advantage to have experience with Ab Initio.
  • Experience working with Big Data
  • Actively self-educates, evaluate new technology, and recommend suitable ones.
  • Knowledge of virtualization, cloud architecture, services and automated deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and troubleshoot production application flows to ensure end-to-end application or infrastructure service delivery supporting the business operations of the firm
  • Improve operational stability and availability through participation in problem management
  • Monitor production environments for anomalies and address issues utilizing standard observability tools
  • Assist in the escalation and communication of issues and solutions to the business and technology stakeholders
  • Identify trends and assist in the management of incidents, problems, and changes in support of full stack technology systems, applications, or infrastructure
  • The role may require on call coverage during weekends
