About The Position

The Technology Support Engineer plays a key role in maintaining, securing, and optimizing the College’s technology infrastructure. This position provides advanced technical expertise in endpoint management, network connectivity, systems integration, and cybersecurity compliance. The Engineer acts as a senior-level resource for the IT team, leading complex projects, automating technical workflows, and mentoring support staff to ensure a secure and efficient computing environment across all campuses.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in technical support, systems administration, or network operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Windows desktop management, Microsoft 365 administration, and endpoint security.
  • Advanced knowledge of endpoint management, scripting, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and lead technology projects to successful completion.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, patch management, and asset protection.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator.
  • Experience with network infrastructure, cloud services, virtualization, and classroom technology.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a senior technical resource and escalation point for complex issues involving hardware, software, and networked systems.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage Windows and macOS devices through enterprise management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, AutoPilot, PDQ Deploy, and AutoElevate.
  • Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 services, including identity, access, security, and endpoint configuration policies.
  • Support and monitor network connectivity, VLANs, wireless access, and VoIP systems to ensure consistent uptime and performance.
  • Collaborate with Information Security to implement cybersecurity controls, maintain GLBA Safeguards compliance, and ensure secure configurations across endpoints.
  • Develop, document, and automate recurring administrative tasks using PowerShell, Group Policy, or equivalent scripting tools.
  • Participate in planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and technology modernization projects.
  • Oversee inventory, asset lifecycle management, and software license compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles for internal reference and training.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Technology Support Technicians, assisting with skill development and adherence to IT best practices.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication, timely issue resolution, and proactive follow-up with users.
  • Support after-hours maintenance, on-call rotation, or emergency response as required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to off-campus sites as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Information Technology/CIO or designee.
