About The Position

Joplin Schools is seeking an individual possessing a unique combination of attributes, including high-level technology skills and strong interpersonal abilities. The Technology Specialist will support the mission of Joplin Schools, the value of education, and comply with the privacy rights of students. This role involves safeguarding confidential information, communicating effectively with district members and the community, and providing excellent customer service. The specialist will react to change productively, stay updated on new information and techniques, and maintain accurate records. All activities must conform to district and state guidelines. The work environment is consistent with a typical school environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience in technology.
  • Familiarity with Apple OS and Windows OS environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in Gmail, Google Drive, and Google app suites.
  • Proficient in audio/visual presentation systems.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate with customers with different proficiency levels in technology.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other team members, department members, and district staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Systems or Networking

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair Hardware/Software problems.
  • Provide training and support for instructional and administrative technology use.
  • Assist in Network Connectivity Problems.
  • Provide Multimedia set up for special events.
  • Facilitate repairs with 3rd party vendors and monitor warranty on parts (I.e., Dell, Lenovo, etc).
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned.
