Technology Solutions Design Engineer
About The Position
CMTA, a Legence Company, is hiring a Technology Solutions Design Engineer for an onsite position in its Dallas-Plano or Houston, Texas office. The role offers hands-on training in technology systems design and the opportunity to work on challenging and complex technology projects as part of a design team. Engineers will teach the new hire to design and implement technology systems, including security, audiovisual, IT infrastructure, and IT active equipment, and how these systems integrate to support secure, high-performing buildings. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills and can work both independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Strong interest in technology systems and electrical engineering.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Ability to travel locally for field work.
Nice To Haves
- Internship or co-op experience in a technology solutions design role.
- AutoCAD and Revit experience.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed layouts and equipment details for building technology systems.
- Produce one-line diagrams and schematics.
- Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
- Assist with data collection and/or field verification as needed.
- Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project.
- Manage and prioritize responsibilities effectively to meet project deadlines.
