About The Position

Arlington County's Department of Technology Services (DTS) is hiring an experienced Technology Manager to lead the ConnectArlington Fiber Team. ConnectArlington is Arlington County’s publicly owned fiber-optic network, providing secure, high-speed connectivity for County government operations, public safety, Arlington Public Schools, traffic infrastructure, and other essential public services. The Technology Manager is responsible for leading the operation, maintenance, expansion, and long-term planning of the ConnectArlington fiber network. The position supervises a multidisciplinary team of fiber engineering and field professionals and oversees fiber construction, infrastructure maintenance, service restoration, capital projects, contractor performance, budgeting, permitting, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience managing fiber-optic, telecommunications, or other critical infrastructure programs.
• Strong technical and project management skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams.
• Experience managing budgets, contractors, and capital projects.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to balance day-to-day operations with long-term planning.
