About The Position

Boeing Digital Services is undergoing a significant modernization effort to transform how it designs, delivers, and supports aviation products. This involves adopting modern technologies and AI-driven practices to enhance team operations, customer partnerships, and digital solution delivery. The Modernization Office is central to this transformation, ensuring clarity, alignment, and momentum. This role focuses on equipping technologists with modern working methods and providing leadership with visibility into progress. The Modernization Office is seeking a Technology Lead - Modernization & Enablement (Level 5) to act as an org-wide coach and change agent, designing, embedding, and cascading new technology solutions to enable Digital Services to deliver at pace. The primary customer base for this role is the Digital Services Technology team located in Englewood, CO; Plano, TX; and Puyallup, WA.

Requirements

5+ years’ experience in software development, DevOps, platform engineering, or AI/ML
Experience using DevOps/CI-CD and supporting tools such as TFS, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Artifactory, Git
Experience developing models and ensembles in the AI/ML space
Proficient in technologies such as Kubernetes, Istio, Rancher, Git, Helm, Ansible, Chef, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, and AppDynamics
Experience identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and/or metrics connected to plan/campaign objectives
Experience training and/or mentoring in a technical environment
Experience working with digital engineering tools and software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DevSecOps)

Nice To Haves

Experience working within a modernization office, AI center of excellence, or platform engineering team embedded in a transformation program
Track record of building self-service developer tooling, internal AI tools, or automation frameworks that outlive a single initiative and are actively used by engineering teams
Familiarity with AI governance, data privacy considerations, and responsible AI deployment practices in a production software development context
Experience in aviation, aerospace, or another asset-intensive, highly regulated industry.
Experience in tech industry or working in software development organizations

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new modern technologies, AI-powered tools, and updated ways of working.
Write automation scripts, build integrations, and contribute directly to internal tooling to reduce the friction of adopting new technologies.
Own implementation follow-up and adoption tracking, monitoring usage and surfacing friction at the technical level.
Partner with the Modernization Office Lead and platform teams to sequence technology introductions.
Design, build, and deliver technical training programs that equip software developers, DevOps practitioners, and product teams with hands-on skills.
Develop a comprehensive library of enablement assets (code walkthroughs, hands-on labs, quick-reference guides, e-learning modules, self-service learning paths).
Facilitate live training sessions, workshops, and office hours.
Translate complex AI and platform concepts into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
Foster a Center of Excellence environment for developers to share learnings and best practices.
Directly build, own, and maintain KPI dashboards for real-time visibility into modernization program progress.
Proactively identify new data sources, instrumentation gaps, and emerging signals for measuring modernization progress.
Partner with software and platform teams to ensure reliable data pipelines feed the dashboards.
Build applications to move reporting from documents to shared self-serve spaces.
Work closely with the Modernization Office Lead to translate adoption activity and technology progress into leadership-ready reporting.
Track and communicate core adoption indicators and software development performance metrics.
Build and maintain dashboards and reporting views for the Modernization Office and executive stakeholders.
Build strong working relationships with software development leads, architects, platform teams, and product managers.
Serve as a bridge between the Modernization Office and technical teams.
Contribute to the Modernization Office’s broader program visibility by connecting technology adoption trends and metrics data to the transformation narrative.
Participate in technology evaluation and selection processes with an enablement and adoption lens.
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of enablement programs and dashboards.
Codify enablement approaches, dashboard templates, and instrumentation patterns into reusable frameworks.
Stay current on emerging practices in modern software delivery, AI-driven tooling, DevOps, and software development metrics.
