2027 Internship - Technology

Qube Research & Technologies•Chicago, IL

About The Position

Qube Research & Technologies (QRT) is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager operating across liquid asset classes and markets worldwide. Its scientific investment approach combines data, research, technology and trading expertise to develop and run systematic strategies. Technology underpins QRT’s global research and execution platform, spanning asset classes, geographies and trading horizons, from ultra-low-latency systems to large-scale research, analytics and risk infrastructure. The 10-week summer internship is for penultimate- or final-year students completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Interns join a team, contribute to real projects and learn alongside engineers, researchers and traders working on live problems. The environment is technical, collaborative and demanding, with opportunities to ask questions, test ideas and take ownership. Strong performance may lead to consideration for a full-time graduate role. Technology interns help build the systems, platforms and tools behind QRT’s research, trading and investment activities. Depending on their interests and strengths, interns may work in one of four disciplines: Software Engineering, developing trading and investment systems and platforms; FPGA Engineering, designing, testing and integrating ultra-low-latency hardware systems; Security Engineering, helping protect systems, data and infrastructure through security engineering, investigations and automation; or Infrastructure Engineering, working on on-premise hardware and operating systems and investigating performance, reliability and system configurations. The annualised base salary for these US positions is $178,000, prorated to reflect the internship duration. Interns also receive a signing bonus and a competitive benefits package. QRT describes its workplace as collaborative and offers initiatives and programmes intended to support work-life balance.
