About The Position

The Technology Engineer is responsible for reliability of the site’s electrical, instrumentation, and packaging equipment. The role applies statistical reliability methods, root cause analysis, and data-driven strategies to improve asset availability and align maintenance practices with business objectives. Rather than focusing on emergency repairs, the engineer develops and implements proactive and prescriptive approaches to prevent failures. The engineer supports electrical safety and compliance, assesses asset criticality, develops equipment maintenance strategies, improves preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and leads defect-elimination efforts. The role also identifies and manages capital improvements, serves as a plant subject matter expert, analyzes condition-monitoring data, and helps train E&I craft technicians. Work takes place in an industrial setting and includes both facility audits and computer-based analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an industrial manufacturing setting focused on electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Professional experience with RCM, FMEA/FMECA, and RCA methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CMMS, specifically Maximo.
  • Knowledge of IIoT protocols and big-data extraction.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment that may involve dust, chemicals, and irritants, and indoor temperatures exceeding 100°F.
  • Ability to work around high-voltage equipment and machinery while adhering to LOTO, arc-flash, and other safety protocols.
  • Ability to walk 1–3 hours daily, including long distances across the facility; occasionally climb stairs or ladders, squat, and kneel.
  • Ability to sit for 5–8 hours for computer-based analysis and keyboarding.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds from waist to shoulder.

  • Review arc flash studies and help develop proactive hazard-remediation plans.
  • Conduct criticality screening and risk analysis for E&I assets.
  • Use Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to develop Equipment Maintenance Strategies and optimize preventive maintenance tasks and intervals.
  • Participate in and lead root cause analyses for electrical, instrumentation, and packaging equipment failures using methods such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Help create, audit, and upgrade electrical preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Advance condition monitoring through telemetry, advanced infrared monitoring, acoustic emission, anomaly-detection models, and IIoT sensor data.
  • Identify E&I and packaging capital improvement projects through failure analysis and bad-actor or threat-list development.
  • Work with site leadership to prioritize projects using life-cycle costing and write and manage AFEs for approved projects.
  • Serve as the plant subject matter expert, proposing best practices and effective technologies during project-scope development.
  • Serve as the site focal point for high-voltage contractor repairs and inspections.
  • Review preventive and predictive data-collection reports and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Help lead craft skill-gap assessments and develop training materials, standards, and plans for E&I craft technicians.
