About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director to lead the strategy, architecture, engineering, and operational excellence of the enterprise Digital Workplace ecosystem. This leadership role is critical to the success of the Workplace Technology operating model, which expands the scope and complexity of technology products that enable productivity, collaboration, communications, knowledge management, automation, and employee experience across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead modernization initiatives that simplify technology platforms, improve user experience, and accelerate adoption of cloud-native capabilities.
  • Drive innovation through AI, automation, analytics, and emerging workplace technologies that enhance employee productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Establish engineering standards, operational excellence practices, and platform governance models that improve reliability, scalability, and service quality.
  • Partner with Product Management, Security, Infrastructure, Risk, Compliance, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver strategic outcomes.
  • Develop and execute roadmaps for collaboration, communications, content management, and digital workplace experiences.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for security, regulatory compliance, resilience, and operational risk management.
  • Oversee Workplace Technology reporting, analytics, and data capabilities that support operational insights, service measurement, and executive decision-making.
  • Build and lead high-performing engineering and architecture teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
  • Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
  • Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
  • Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
  • Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
  • Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
  • Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
