About The Position

The Technology Development Program (TDP) is a two-year rotational program for individuals with a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. Participants develop in-depth skills within a specific discipline, then complete rotations across multiple Technology departments to gain broader technical understanding and continue growing in their chosen discipline. The program combines career planning, technical and competency-based training, mentorship, and challenging assessments. Post-program assignment in a core area is determined through career-path design, performance, assessment, and interest. In Data Engineering, the team develops and modernizes enterprise data solutions as the organization transitions from legacy Microsoft SQL platforms to Databricks in the cloud. The role provides exposure to SQL, Python, PowerShell, SQL Server, and Databricks, and supports database development, ETL pipelines, data management, cloud migration, and enterprise data initiatives. The employee is expected to follow the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls; identify risk-related issues requiring escalation; support an environment of belonging that reflects the M&T Bank brand; and maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of applicable audit points and issues raised by external regulators.
