About The Position

This role is responsible for the maintenance, coordination, and technical support of equipment used for alternative treatment delivery in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives. The Technology Curriculum Supervisor will ensure technology initiatives align with TDCJ requirements, collaborate with curriculum developers, evaluate digital tools, and conduct staff training. The position involves monitoring technology integration, preparing reports, maintaining an inventory of digital resources, managing budgets, and providing support to instructors. Specific duties include coordinating custom scheduling of television content, maintaining timers and static prompts, troubleshooting connectivity issues, coordinating live-stream sessions, and developing video training segments. Some travel to other program sites may be required, and assistance with treatment technology at other sites may be needed. The incumbent is expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED required.
Two (2) years full-time, wage-earning substance abuse treatment or substance abuse education experience also required.
Must possess current valid licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Certified Program Instructor, Licensed Psychological Associate, current valid licensure as a Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) by the Texas Certification Board of Addition Professionals or current valid licensure as Qualified Credentialed Counselor (QCC) licensed to conduct counseling in a treatment environment.
Must maintain valid licensure or certification for continued employment in the position.
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required unless waived by management.
Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by TDCJ.
Maintain credentials and/or licensure required to maintain employment in position.

Responsibilities

Ensure the alignment of technology initiatives with TDCJ requirements.
Collaborate with curriculum developers to incorporate technology into instrumental materials and lessons for inmates.
Evaluate and recommend digital tools and resources that enhance curriculum.
Design and conduct training sessions for staff.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of technology integration in the curriculum.
Prepare reports and presentations on the impact of technology on teaching and learning.
Maintain an inventory of digital resources and equipment.
Manage budget for technology-related curriculum initiatives.
Provide feedback and support to instructors on the use of technology to improve engagement and achievement.
Coordinate custom scheduling of television content by audience (SAFPF, IPTC, UPSUTP, FCPRP, ISF, SUTP, CIP).
Maintain timers and static prompts to keep participants on track.
Troubleshoots connectivity issues experienced with video delivery.
Coordinates live-stream sessions with counselors and operates technical equipment during these sessions.
Works with programs staff to develop video training segments and facilitator guides.
May assist with treatment technology on other program sites.
