About The Position

The Technology/Computer Science Teacher helps students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, capable, and responsible members of society. The teacher plans instruction around students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities; creates an appropriate classroom learning environment; guides instruction toward curriculum goals; and assesses student progress. This is an affiliated (MEA) position covered by the Teacher Association negotiated contract. It follows the school calendar and includes additional workshop days. The position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a bachelor’s degree.
Meet requirements established by the State of New Hampshire Certification Authorities and Board of School Committee regulations.
State of New Hampshire Teacher Certification in Technology and Engineering (1000), or another approved certification status may be considered.

Responsibilities

Plan a program of study that meets students’ individual needs, interests, and abilities.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, communicating those objectives to students.
Use instructional methods and materials suited to the stated objectives.
Regularly assess student accomplishments and provide progress reports as required.
Regularly diagnose students’ learning disabilities and seek assistance or make referrals as appropriate.
