About The Position

The Technology Center Associate will drive biological pig performance by learning and executing all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to individual pig care, feed and water system management, ventilation requirements, and animal handling. This role involves learning all hardware components and software for ventilation and feed systems, responding to alarms at any time, and performing routine weekend responsibilities. The Associate will also coordinate with the R&D Leadership team to design study protocols, ensure their execution, oversee data collection logistics, assist in data validation and analysis, and provide updates on research study learnings. A key aspect of the role is the willingness to learn and lead research activities across various company sites. Additionally, the Associate will assist in recruitment and onboarding of new employees, execute a personal onboarding program for self-development, and support community engagement. Physical resource management includes maintaining facilities and equipment in ideal operating condition, including routine validation and maintenance, and ensuring the cleanliness of facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive biological pig performance by learning and executing all SOPs, including individual pig care, feed and water system management, ventilation requirements, and animal handling.
  • Learn all hardware components of scales, feed system, and ventilation system.
  • Learn and become proficient in ventilation and feed system software.
  • Respond to alarms that can occur any time of day or night.
  • Perform routine weekend responsibilities (every other weekend) for the execution of the daily SOP.
  • Coordinate with R & D Leadership team to design study protocols.
  • Ensure all execution of research study protocols and processes.
  • Oversee all on-site logistics with regards to data collection.
  • Assist in data validation and analysis.
  • Provide updates to R & D Leadership team on research study learnings and key events.
  • Be willing and able to learn and lead research activities in any technology center, sow farm, commercial wean-to-market site, or packing plant.
  • Assist in recruitment of potential employees.
  • Execute personal onboarding program with the objective of self-development in the areas of daily commercial pork production practices, The Maschhoffs culture and financial drivers, pig biology, standard work, and scientific methodology.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees.
  • Support community engagement.
  • Maintain facilities and all equipment in ideal operating condition, including routine validation and maintenance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facilities (inside and outside, laundry, office, etc.).
