About The Position

The Technology Assistant serves as the primary administrative support to the Technology Coordinator while providing operational support to District Technologists and Building Media Technology Assistants. This position is responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, maintaining department budgets, managing district technology systems, and supporting the daily operations of the Technology Department to ensure reliable technology resources for students and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of administrative, office management, technology support, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrative assistant to the Technology Coordinator.
  • Provide support to District Technology Specialists and Building Media Technology Assistants as assigned.
  • Provide support to the District Library Media Specialist as assigned.
  • Prepare, process, and monitor purchase orders for technology equipment, software, licenses, and services in accordance with district purchasing procedures.
  • Maintain technology department budgets, monitor expenditures, reconcile accounts, and prepare reports as requested.
  • Maintain accurate records of technology purchases, contracts, software licensing, and warranties.
  • Administer and maintain the district telephone system, including E911 records and updates.
  • Administer and maintain the district building access control system.
  • Manage the district technology Help Desk system, including ticket tracking, routing, reporting, and communication.
  • Maintain the district inventory of technology assets, ensuring accurate records for deployment, transfers, surplus, and disposal.
  • Coordinate the collection, surplus, and environmentally responsible recycling and disposal of district technology equipment.
  • Assist with the administration of the district's Learning Management System (LMS) and other instructional software platforms.
  • Support the management of the district's mass notification system, including user maintenance and communication assistance.
  • Assist with technology deployments, district initiatives, software implementations, and special projects.
  • Develop and maintain department documentation, procedures, and records.
  • Provide courteous and effective customer service to students, staff, administrators, vendors, and community members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of district information and student records in accordance with Board policy and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Technology Coordinator or designee.
