About The Position

This role involves evaluating patients for the presence of peripheral vascular disease by selecting the most effective procedures within regulatory and compliance guidelines. The technologist will perform appropriate diagnostic procedures, record patient test results, and report findings. They will monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses. Responsibilities also include maintaining adequate supplies, verifying equipment is in proper working condition, and reporting deficiencies. The role requires accurate patient positioning and selection of technical parameters, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. Additionally, the technologist is responsible for the prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data/history. A part of the role also includes assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly department.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient for presence of peripheral vascular disease by selecting most effective procedures within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  • Perform appropriate diagnostic procedures, record patient test results and report results.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and verify all equipment is in proper working condition; report deficiencies and failures.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and document sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
