About The Position

The IT Technician I serves as the first point of contact for IT-related support requests and is responsible for providing timely and effective technical assistance to employees. The IT Technician I supports endpoint devices, user accounts, Microsoft 365 services, printers and workplace technology while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to IT standards, security requirements, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Diploma (DEC/AEC) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a Help Desk, IT Support, or Technical Support role.
  • Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Basic knowledge of: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Printer and peripheral support, Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP).
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Internship or co-op experience is considered an asset.
  • Good knowledge of good clinical practices, and applicable Health Canada and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations/guidelines is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support to employees locally and remotely.
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and service requests within established SLAs.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2 or Level 3 support teams when required.
  • Assist users with hardware, software, mobile devices, peripherals, and collaboration tools.
  • Configure, deploy, and support laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
  • Install and maintain operating systems, drivers, and approved software.
  • Support device enrollment and compliance processes using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
  • Perform hardware replacement and lifecycle activities.
  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, mailboxes, and shared resources.
  • Assist with password resets, MFA enrollment, and access-related requests.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware and assets.
  • Document procedures, recurring incidents, and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
  • Follow IT security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure company devices comply with security standards.
  • Report security incidents or suspicious activities.
  • Support compliance initiatives related to regulated environments and company quality systems.
