Our transportation infrastructure expertise team is looking for a Senior Design Technician – Road Engineering and 3D Modeling to join our Montreal or Quebec City office. Under the supervision of the technical management, you will be at the heart of the design and drafting of road projects, mainly in road geometry, for varied and stimulating mandates. As a Senior Design Technician, you will work closely with a passionate multidisciplinary expertise team. You will evolve in a state-of-the-art technological environment, working primarily in 3D modeling with OpenRoads, integrated into the iTwin platform. This platform acts as a technological foundation that brings together design data and ensures security, 3D visualization, and change tracking, allowing you to contribute to integrated, modern, and efficient digital projects.

Requirements

  • DEC in civil engineering
  • More than 8 years of experience in road infrastructure design.
  • Proficiency in InRoads or OpenRoads for 3D road modeling.
  • Good knowledge of the standards of the Quebec Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD).
  • Good knowledge of the standards of the Road and Transportation Association of Canada (RTAC).
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Knowledge of the ProjectWise platform is an asset.
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions permanently located in Quebec to communicate with colleagues and partners in Quebec.
  • Proficiency in English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, clients, and partners (or suppliers) located outside of Quebec, and to understand technical and scientific documentation available in our industry.

  • Knowledge of the ProjectWise platform is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design of structures related to road engineering (geometry, earthworks, drainage, etc.);
  • Develop 3D digital models with OpenRoads/InRoads, including surface creation, volumetric calculations, and cut/fill optimization, and perform CAD design of road structures in 3D modeling (geometry, earthworks, drainage, signage, etc.);
  • Integrate survey data and field surveys into design models;
  • Perform quantity estimation and volume calculation for bid documents;
  • Perform plan verification and coordination with other disciplines (structure, environment, surveying) and apply the standards and regulations of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD);
  • Participate in technical coordination meetings with the project team and external stakeholders.
