About The Position

As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for tasks related to the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of ordered systems, communication networks, and control systems on machines in the fields of electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. More specifically: You will prepare sketches and/or interpret electrical or electronic diagrams. You will assemble prototypes and develop them. You will work in cooperation with the analyst department to troubleshoot or improve the plant's various PLC programs. You will modify or repair various equipment using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, emulators, frequency counters, etc. You will master algorithms to install, operate, modify, and repair various computer systems. You will assemble, install, repair, modify, and maintain control and measurement devices at the electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical levels. You will dismantle various types of electronic instruments and devices and replace defective parts, using hand tools and other precision instruments. You will verify and repair computer-controlled laboratory equipment. You will calibrate electronic measurement and indication instruments such as scales, voltmeters, ammeters, etc. You will assemble and repair thermocouples and perform all other work related to pyrometry. You will verify and repair programmable logic controllers and their associated control cards within the plant. You will perform, with the necessary manual dexterity, miniature soldering work and manipulation of micro-components. You will participate in group discussions on various problems encountered and seek solutions. You will install, repair, and calibrate various measuring devices for the control computers of electrolysis tanks. You will troubleshoot and repair microcomputers. You will drive a motorized vehicle within the plant to perform part of your work. You will keep system diagrams up to date after modifications. You will write procedures and work methods for new technologies used in the plant in your field. You will work in cooperation with the plant's Production and Maintenance personnel. You will respect all safety rules inherent to your work.

Requirements

  • DEC in Industrial Electronics / Electricity / Instrumentation
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
