About The Position

Lineage is looking for a maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, building structures, and basic plumbing and electrical systems, while adhering to regulatory standards and company safety policies and procedures. This is an entry-level position for which training will be provided to develop the necessary skills for advancement within the maintenance team.

Requirements

  • Diploma from a trade school or minimal experience in one or more of the following areas (asset): building maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance, industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance tasks with instructions and supervision.
  • Basic proficiency with hand and power tools and the ability to use them.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the facility.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20°F / -25°C in cold storage sites or up to 100°F / 37°C in dry storage sites, while wearing company-provided personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lb / 23 kg (weight may vary by facility).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.
  • Some sites require tolerance for different noise levels, which can be high at times.
  • Some sites require knowledge and experience in working at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs on mechanical assets impacting facility operations, physical structure, and exterior grounds, under close supervision.
  • In automated sites, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on proximity detectors, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, push buttons, and associated test equipment, under supervision.
  • Perform basic inspections of refrigeration systems, under supervision.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks on material handling equipment according to manufacturer and company guidelines to ensure continuous and safe operation, under supervision.
  • Use power tools, a cutting torch, and other welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Use powered industrial trucks on-site and rental equipment as needed, while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining the equipment.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned.
