About The Position

We are looking for a Chemical Engineering or Industrial Processes Technician to fill a technical position within the Arvida Research and Development Center (CRDA). This technician role allows for growth in a multidisciplinary environment alongside scientists and process experts in aluminum production (electrolysis, smelting). The position immerses you in action and will have you working on research and development projects directly in the aluminum plants of Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean. An ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys contributing to innovation directly in the field. Reporting to the Program Manager at CRDA, you will work according to a generally standard schedule, which may vary depending on operational needs. As such, you will have the following responsibilities: A commitment to your safety and that of your team. Coordinate and carry out experimental tests in different sectors (CRDA and plants). Perform compilation and computer processing of data. Provide data related to the work performed (Excel spreadsheets, letters, reports, presentations, etc., as needed). These tasks are performed by applying technical knowledge related to your specialty to provide data and/or services for the improvement or control of processes in Rio Tinto's plants and subsidiaries.

Requirements

  • College diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology or Industrial Processes
  • Valid driver's license (Class 5)
  • French language proficiency (spoken, written)
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Autonomy
  • Rigor, meticulousness, and organization
  • Scientific curiosity
  • Team spirit and good interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility in work schedules during plant trials
  • Proficiency in the Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
