About The Position

This position is based in our Kirkland facility. We are looking for an IT Technician to develop our department. Reporting to the Group IT Director - Infrastructure & Security, the IT Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization's local and regional technological infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting in system maintenance and upgrades, and offering user support and training. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and ensuring the efficient operation of hardware, software, and networks.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in IT or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience working with operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, software applications, and networking.
  • Proven track record in providing technical support and troubleshooting IT issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience in assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment and systems.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, hardware, and software.
  • Customer service orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Critical thinker and great problem solver.
  • Ability to work unsupervised with a “can-do” approach – but as part of a team
  • Ability to follow procedures and policies as per company standards.
  • Aptitude for systems, documentation control and workflows.
  • Adhering to safe work practices.
  • Ability to speak French with our team in Quebec
  • A good command of English is necessary to interact with part of our clientele and international team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Respond to and resolve IT service requests and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the Manage Engine suite of tools to monitor, manage, and maintain IT infrastructure.
  • Adhere to ITIL best practices for incident management, problem management, and change management.
  • Collaborate with support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of IT support activities and resolutions.
  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and applications.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Conduct regular system audits and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics.
  • Manage interaction with local suppliers for local services, such as cellular phone services.
  • Responding promptly to IT queries and issues.
  • Troubleshooting/maintaining hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Assisting in installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Possibly participate in local Business improvement meetings to report and synchronize systems enhancements requirements to the Global IT team.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure secure and efficient system operation.
  • Supporting system upgrades and migrations, minimizing downtime.
  • Providing guidance to users.
  • Working with the global IT team to resolve complex issues and contribute to projects.
  • Liaising with other departments to understand IT needs and provide solutions.
