About The Position

EPD is seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Technician to provide technical support across EPD's office, engineering, and manufacturing environments. This role requires at least 2-3 years of desktop and technical support experience, with the ability to independently troubleshoot Windows systems, hardware, software, networking, printers, business applications, and production-floor technology. The IT Technician will manage support issues from diagnosis to resolution, collaborate with the IT team, provide professional support to employees, maintain IT equipment and infrastructure, and escalate complex issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3+ years of hands-on desktop support or IT technical support experience.
  • Strong Windows desktop troubleshooting and PC hardware diagnostic, repair, deployment, and imaging skills.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, role-based access controls, Windows Server environments, network shares, permissions, and print services.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wired and wireless networking, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience using Windows command-line utilities and built-in diagnostic tools.
  • Working knowledge of structured Ethernet cabling and physical network troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of endpoint security, phishing, malware indicators, suspicious system behavior, and appropriate security escalation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide professional support to both technical and nontechnical users.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of problems, research unfamiliar issues, prioritize effectively, and recognize when escalation is necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or formal education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar technical certifications.
  • PowerShell experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments, network printers, VPN connectivity, and Remote Desktop.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial technology environments.
  • Experience with structured cabling, wireless access points, cameras, and low-voltage IT equipment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office, Teams, AutoCAD, ERP applications, and related business systems.
  • Demonstrated technical ability and practical hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, telephone, and remote technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and approved business applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating-system, user-profile, driver, service, and connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, deploy, refresh, repair, and decommission desktop and laptop computers.
  • Troubleshoot and replace PC hardware, including memory, storage devices, docks, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Support Active Directory users, computers, group membership, account access, and permissions within established role-based access policies.
  • Troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity, DNS, DHCP, gateways, VLANs, VPN connections, Remote Desktop, and wired and wireless networking.
  • Support network printers, scanners, industrial label printers, and Windows print-server environments.
  • Support Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD installations, ERP client software, and other approved business applications.
  • Provide basic support for mobile devices, VoIP endpoints, conference-room technology, displays, cameras, microphones, and related equipment.
  • Support technology used throughout EPD's manufacturing and production environments.
  • Perform physical network troubleshooting, including tracing network drops, identifying patch-panel and switch ports, and testing cabling.
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test Ethernet cabling using appropriate structured-cabling practices.
  • Install and replace wireless access points, cameras, and other low-voltage IT equipment as required.
  • Use cable testers, tone/probe equipment, termination tools, hand tools, and other diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset records, equipment assignments, spare-parts inventory, and organized equipment storage areas.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including workstation preparation, deployment, equipment recovery, and asset updates.
  • Participate in IT projects, system deployments, maintenance activities, and technology improvement initiatives.
  • Prioritize support requests based on urgency and business impact and follow assigned issues through resolution.
  • Create clear ticket notes and technical documentation while communicating professionally with technical and nontechnical employees.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance, deployments, or support when business needs require it.
