About The Position

Hitachi Énergie is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician for its Quebec City plant. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the incumbent must perform the various electrical and mechanical tests required for transformer production.

Requirements

  • Hold a DEC in electrical engineering, electrotechnology, electromechanics, industrial electronics technology, or a DEP in electricity (1800 hours) or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a similar position or any other relevant experience.
  • Available to work the night shift.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Advanced French (comprehension, spoken, and written).
  • Intermediate English (comprehension, spoken, and written).

Responsibilities

  • Perform the various electrical and mechanical tests required for transformer production, including leak tests and product packaging.
  • Proceed with the inspection of finished products to ensure they meet customer and Hitachi Énergie requirements.
  • Perform the necessary tests and checks related to the reception of goods and test the compatibility of raw materials, including all required oil tests.
  • Perform checks, internal audits, and inspections aimed at maintaining Quality and Environmental management systems.
  • Keep quality assurance control records up to date.
  • Acquire data using the IT management system.
  • Ensure compliance with established processes, identify non-conformities (NC) related to production problems, diagnose them, and ensure follow-up.
  • Perform and validate minor repairs made to the product.
  • Take charge of and perform special processes.
  • Accompany employees, as needed, in mastering technical aspects such as ISO.
  • Collaborate on tests and prototype follow-ups with Engineering, Quality, and Production.
  • Provide technical support to employees.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on testing equipment, including maintenance and calibration of measurement, environmental, and OHS equipment.
  • Validate the safety of plant tests.
  • Any other related task.
