Consider joining us as a Service Technician if you have experience troubleshooting and solving mechanical challenges. You may have worked as an apprentice or mechanic or building furniture or equipment. You are curious, friendly, and empathetic, finding satisfaction in solving problems and helping others. You are comfortable using and working with manual and power tools. The role: We are adding a compassionate and knowledgeable Technician to our team in Ontario. This posting is for an existing vacancy. You will be trained on the tools you will be working with and the equipment you will be repairing. You will work directly with clients to understand the issues with their equipment and troubleshoot to solve the problem. You will travel to different sites, both private residences and community facilities to accommodate client needs.

Requirements

  • Experience troubleshooting and solving mechanical challenges.
  • Comfortable using and working with manual and power tools.
  • Previous experience in customer service.
  • Experience assembling or repairing equipment.
  • Exposure to using diagnostic tools and power equipment.
  • Genuinely enjoy learning new tools and approaches to solving tactical challenges.
  • Ability to navigate any situation in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner.
  • Ability to prioritize the comfort and urgency of clients.
  • Ability to manage conflict.
  • Act with responsive patience to client demands.
  • Understand the impact their mobility devices have on their lives.
  • Valid G-class driver's license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Clean criminal background check.
  • Bondable.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair wheelchairs and custom mobility equipment.
  • Navigate the company's software system.
  • Assess issues with manual and power devices.
  • Troubleshoot batteries and functionality.
  • Repair equipment.
  • Prioritize an empathic, respectful, and friendly customer experience.
  • Ensure that clients’ needs are met.
  • Travel to clients' homes and community facilities.
  • Adapt daily schedule to meet changing client needs.
