Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Technician 1 to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment and develop skills for a career in service or operations management. The work takes place in a safety-focused environment and may require working indoors or outdoors, depending on the job. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more. The position may require providing personal trade tools. Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs. Sunbelt Rentals provides on-the-job training for eligible employees and a benefits package for full-time employees. The stated base pay range is $18.99–$26.11; starting pay may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide tools of trade.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
- One to three years of technician experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
