Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Technician 1 to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on rental equipment in a safe and effective manner, helping avoid equipment downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also maintain large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The role offers opportunities to work on a variety of equipment and develop skills for a career track in service or operations management. Employees work as part of a safety-focused team and receive extensive on-the-job training. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide tools of the trade.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- One to three years of technician experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
