About The Position

The Technician position requires experience and skill in molding technology. This position ensures that molds produce products within customer specifications, perform minor troubleshooting, and intervene to ensure the process flow is running smoothly. This position requires a moderate level of mechanical ability and a general knowledge of the CSI product process flow, materials requirements, and customer specifications. While performing this role, the technician must keep scrap at a minimum, ensure that safety & quality standards are specifically followed, and ensure that all materials used in the process match job sheet specifications. 2 years plastics experience preferred.

  • High School Diploma Preferred
  • experience in Plastics Manufacturing environment

  • Written communication must follow CSI standards and values.
  • This position requires frequent verbal and written communication with all employees and management at the facility.
  • The candidate helps provide a safe workplace by assisting in developing, promoting and following practices which prevent injury and meet legal safety requirements.
  • Follows all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor; Reports any deviation from food safety protocol to the functionally responsible personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for minimizing waste and preventing pollution to protect the environment.
  • Analyzes causes of minor problems on molding machines.
  • Installs water hoses, shielding, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Understands and troubleshoots material loading system.
  • Must be able to shut down, pull runner, and restart molding machines and perform these tasks efficiently with minimum downtime.
  • Performs color changes efficiently to minimize downtime, scrap, and avoid customer complaints.
  • Must be able to perform a thorough daily machine check in a timely manner.
  • Perform a daily material check.
  • Understand all machine gauges, timers, and controls.
  • Checks machines thoroughly before approaching Supervisor or Technician.
  • Keep Supervisor informed of all problems during the shift.
  • Salvages parts and raw materials to reduce waste.
  • Communication: must work closely with Supervisor, Technician and fellow employees.
  • May only make adjustments on molding machines (within setup sheet parameters) when instructed to do so by a Supervisor or Technician.
  • LOTO (Lock out, Tag out) Training is required; must follow all safety procedures and requirements.
  • Be aware and understand emergency procedures.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all required training topics in Safety, Quality, Communication page, Monday Reports, IFE/IFO reporting and Job Ob reporting per schedule.
  • The position requires the employee to be trained in the use of walk behind type lifts.
  • The employee must pass both a written and driving test.
  • The position requires use of a computer/computer screen, accurate data entry, and keyboarding/mouse skills.
  • Visual acuity is required to read box labels overhead for inventory accuracy.
