About The Position

CHEP is looking for motivated Pallet Repair Operators to join our Kilgore, TX team, 1st shift working Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm. This role is responsible for the full assembly of pallets in a service center, using a pneumatic nail gun to repair all components. The individual will place a pallet on a repair table, remove defective boards, replace them with new boards, and nail the replaced boards into place. In an assembly department, the operator will take stock boards and nail them together based on the type of pallet desired. The role also involves troubleshooting jams and performing basic maintenance of the saw. Requirements

  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of production tools such as pneumatic nail gun, or other relevant tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Lift and carry 78lbs at least 63% of work shift.
  • Push items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet.
  • Pull items with a maximum force of 34 lbs./feet.

Responsibilities

  • Follow repair guidelines to execute the full repair of all components of a pallet including but not limited to removal and replacement of defective boards.
  • Strive to meet daily production targets.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify any defects or irregularities in pallet construction.
  • Ensure adherence to repair guidelines and quality standards throughout the process.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment daily.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Troubleshoot jams and perform basic maintenance of the saw.
