About The Position
Transport Refrigeration, Inc. (TRI), a factory-authorized Thermo King dealer, is seeking a motivated student to join our team as a Technician Trainee / Installer Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in diesel, automotive, HVAC, welding, or skilled trades careers. No prior experience is required—we'll train you. Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll assist with the installation of Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), Cab heaters and air conditioning systems, Transport refrigeration units, and Custom-built products and equipment. You'll gain real-world mechanical experience while learning valuable skills used throughout the transportation and skilled trades industries.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in high school, technical college, or trade school
- Interest in mechanics, diesel technology, HVAC, welding, or related trades
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Dependable with good attendance
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a hands-on environment
Nice To Haves
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with equipment installations
- Help assemble parts and components
- Prepare vehicles and equipment for installation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards
- Assist with general shop duties as needed
