About The Position

Spartan Emergency Response (Spartan ER) is a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of custom emergency response vehicles, cabs, and chassis. The company offers a broad range of apparatus to meet specific requirements and demands of the fire service industry. Spartan ER is part of Terex Corporation, a global designer and manufacturer of specialized vehicles and equipment. QRT Members are responsible for fixing non-conformities in all areas, including finishing and testing the fire truck before final shipment, and completing complex troubleshooting, and facilitating customer and engineering changes.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and solve complex manufacturing problems
  • Install missing components or replace defective components as needed
  • Eliminate any potential defects, based on write-ups and self-inspection
  • Perform advanced electrical, plumbing, or mechanical troubleshooting
  • Assess and perform mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Eliminate any potential defects based on write-ups and self-inspection
  • Assist with major reworks and projects
  • Document and report defects to Quality
  • Lead resolution of electrical defects and reworks
  • Interact with engineering on current manufacturing issues
  • Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate
  • Maintain documentation for shop floor applications
  • Perform function tests
  • Lead quality, cost, and productivity improvement efforts
  • Support manufacturing and OEM service
  • Perform rework, as needed
  • Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
  • Complete final torque verification, fluid top-off, weatherproofing, etc.
  • Maneuver fire trucks around the facility
  • Self-check work and inspect prior processes
  • Meet production goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Initiate process improvements when able
  • Work in close proximity to customer, as needed
  • Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job
  • Assist other team members and departments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
