About The Position
This Technician position will perform a variety of technical tasks in the field and office in an independent manner. The Technician will be required to work as Chief Inspector (or Resident) on active construction projects. The Maine Department of Transportation is seeking a Technician for their Regional Program. This role involves monitoring and enforcing contractor plans, ensuring work meets specifications, and designing/estimating quantities for pavement projects.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in engineering
- Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and enforcing the contractors TCP, SEWPCP, and QC Plan.
- Assuring that work inspected meets the standard specifications and contract requirements and is tested as per policy and meets expected quality.
- Detailing, designing, and estimating quantities for Regional led pavement preservation or rehabilitation design projects.
- Work as Chief Inspector (or Resident) on active construction projects.
