About The Position

CBS LA is looking for a Technician (Production Support) for the Los Angeles Duopoly. The Production Tech role is responsible for working with editorial staff and field crews in acquiring, routing, and operating equipment to acquire live signals. Editing video using nonlinear editing equipment for the newscast and supporting the technical needs of the Production Control Room and Studio.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Edius and Grass Valley systems a plus.
Knowledge of Cellular Bonding systems (Dejero, LiveU)

Responsibilities

Acquiring and routing RF and bonded cellular signals with the ability to multi-task under deadline pressures.
Edit video including Vo, Sots, PKG’s.
Studio support includes assisting guests with microphones, running handheld cameras, and assisting producers with technical needs.
Safely operate news-gathering equipment from TOC room
Schedule and record live feeds
Edit stories quickly and accurately
Make sound technical decisions under pressure
