Under general direction of assigned supervisor, develops and generates creative multimedia content for a variety of platforms that include cablecast, web, social media and print. The Media Production Technician coordinates visual and auditory city-wide communications activities and production services related to both recorded and live media coverage. Operates video and still cameras, edits video and photos, provides writing services, and performs related production functions. May appear on-camera in supportive of hosting needs. This is an at-will, part-time position without benefits. Positions may end at any time, and there is no guarantee of hours. Work hours for part-time positions are scheduled based on operational need and typically do not exceed 1,000 hours in a fiscal year from July 1 through June 30, unless further authorized. Incumbents may be required to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, holidays, weekends, and split-shifts.
