About The Position

Works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care services while considering patient-specific factors. The role prioritizes and processes medication orders, prepares medications for dispensing, and distributes and stocks patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience, as required by the job.
• Computer, typing, calculation, and communication skills.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration in the state where the work is performed, in accordance with state rules and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a setting involving medication distribution.
• Previous hospital experience.
• Technician training program or academy.
• CPHT.

Responsibilities

• Safely and accurately procure, handle, prepare, distribute, charge or credit, and dispose of medications as part of the Medication-Use Process.
• Manage own pharmacy practice effectively.
• Process and prepare sterile products for dispensing.
• Participate in inventory management.
• Use and maintain automation and equipment.
• Assist the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients.
• Contribute to goals, programs, and report cards for the operational unit and entity.
• Provide education and training.
• Complete assigned goals.
