About The Position

This position is responsible for building, assembling, and testing Motion Solutions units in accordance with drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and customer specifications. Working under close to general supervision, the Technician performs entry-level craft work that supports production schedules, verifies basic unit function, documents work completed, testing and escalates issues or nonconforming results to more experienced team lead or manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic ability to read and follow drawings, electrical diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, shop tools, and machinery such as cut-off saws, drill presses, tapping machines, grinders, and related production equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic testing, measurement, inspection, and troubleshooting activities with appropriate training and supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, prioritize assigned work, and complete documentation accurately.
  • Demonstrates manual dexterity and the ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials, parts, tools, and completed units.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work cooperatively with a wide variety of people and personalities, and present oneself professionally.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and complete required company training to develop appropriate product and safety knowledge.
  • Must promote goodwill internally and externally and maintain company-owned assets and equipment responsibly.
  • Must be over the age of 18 for this position; if driving is required, you must be over the age of 21.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical coursework, applicable skilled trades training, or related hands-on experience preferred.
  • Entry-level to one year of related build, assembly, production, testing, mechanical, electrical, or technical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and test units according to drawings, work instructions, design requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Set up and use basic tools, equipment, and machinery needed to complete assigned production and testing activities.
  • Perform basic functional checks and tests to verify unit performance, quality, labeling, and completeness before release.
  • Review work instructions, drawings, schematics, or other documentation to understand build requirements and testing steps.
  • Identify and communicate issues, defects, missing information, or test results that do not meet requirements for a lead, supervisor, or higher-level technician.
  • Complete required production, testing, and project documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support in-process and final quality checks by confirming materials, parts, labels, and completed units meet established standards.
  • Assist with IPS builds, installations, and other department projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and care for company tools, equipment, and assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.
