This position performs inspections and extensive preventative maintenance, detailed diagnostic tests, routine repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of equipment/facilities. It involves inspecting, adjusting, and replacing components, performing general mechanical overhaul and repair work, and minor welding. The role also includes responding to emergency maintenance requests, managing daily work orders, assisting with new equipment installation and building renovations, and keeping detailed records of work performed. The technician is responsible for conserving maintenance resources, obtaining correct replacement parts, and maintaining a clean work area. Continuous learning through workshops, publications, and networking is encouraged. The role requires maintaining a safe and clean working environment, complying with procedures, and contributing to team efforts. The technician must alert the maintenance supervisor of any unusual occurrences or damage and maintain a professional demeanor with all stakeholders. While supervision is not a normal responsibility, direction may be provided to lower-level workers when assisted. Special projects may also be assigned.
