Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
  • Background in heavy construction equipment or rental required
  • Advanced experience with major & minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel and gas engines on construction equipment and delivery fleet
  • Extensive experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing heavy equipment repairs
  • Must have the necessary tools you need to perform the scope of equipment repairs
  • Advanced understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods
  • Diesel laptop experience is required
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and efficient time management techniques
  • Successfully manage multiple priorities concurrently, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards performing equipment repairs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains to include manual and power shift transmissions on equipment and trucks
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment
  • Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW)
  • Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications
  • Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating
  • Prepare/maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records
