About The Position

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution. This position will be under the general direction of one or more design and manufacturing engineers with the opportunity to exercise considerable autonomy in completing tasks and driving projects forward. Provide support for research and development efforts in RF, electrical, and mechanical design, including the fabrication, testing, measurement, and troubleshooting of antenna prototypes. Collaborate with engineers to provide manufacturability input during design stages and contribute to design improvements for production antennas. Perform standard duties and tasks and will resolve routine questions and problems independently. Work will be performed under general direction on a day-to-day basis and will be reviewed upon completion. Develop thorough technical solutions to a wide range of problems and may direct less-experienced employees. Excellent communication skills. Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years or more related experience.
  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience.
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Ability to develop a wide range of R&D-support capabilities, so that he or she can get involved in either multiple programs or multiple aspects of the same program.
  • A DoW Interim Secret clearance will be required to start work and required to be maintained to continue work.
  • The applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
  • General knowledge of electrical/RF test equipment (spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, DVM, etc.) and antenna troubleshooting.
  • Experience with machining, to include vertical mills, routers, bandsaws, and lathes.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Experience with RF and RCS range testing.
  • Sheet metal and body filler experience.
  • Experience in polymerics, bonding, sealing.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Experience in the process of fabricating and assembling PCB’s and/or PAB’s.
  • Experience with various hand and power tools.
  • Experience with wood working equipment such as panel saws, table saws, planers, routers and other various equipment.
  • Drawing interpretation and redlining experience.
  • Experience working with test and measurement tools (i.e., scales, torque wrenches, calipers, and micrometers).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with auto, auto body and carpentry work apply well for the fabrication and assembly skills needed for this position.
