About The Position
Sunstate Equipment Co. is hiring immediately for a Technician III-Shop role. This position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and is based in Buda, TX, with occasional field work. Pay is dependent on experience and includes a discretionary quarterly branch performance bonus. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime eligibility. Requirements
- A minimum 2+ years’ experience as diesel mechanic, with a construction equipment rental background preferred.
- Intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosing skills with electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel engines, including Tier 4 and aftertreatment systems.
- Experience performing major and minor repairs on diesel and gas engines, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, as well as drive trains is required.
- Must have the necessary tools you need to do the job; averaging $5,000+ in value.
- Team-player, you work well supporting your team to achieve goals.
- You are a self-starter and motivated to be successful.

Responsibilities
- Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating.
- Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW).
- Prepare and maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment, including warranty records.
