About The Position

As a technician II, you are a crucial part of our production team. Responsible for performing high-quality vehicle upfitting tasks to meet customer specifications and industry standards. Your role includes installing, modifying, and testing equipment on commercial vehicles with precision and efficiency. By ensuring excellence in your work, you contribute directly to the satisfaction of our customers and the success of our operations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar field required.
  • Strong understanding of the industry, vehicle upfitting processes, tools, materials, and best practices in a production environment.
  • Advanced 12v electrical skills
  • 5+ years of welding and fabricating experience
  • 1-2 years’ experience with hydraulics
  • Must be familiar with gasoline, diesel, and light/medium trucks, as well as construction or commercial equipment.
  • Quality control and inspection skills, including defect detection and corrective action
  • Familiarity with shop leadership or team coordination, such as leading work activities in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • May accept candidates with 5-7 years of experience with advanced certifications or specialized skills.
  • Degree/Certificate in Automotive Field or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations and modifications on commercial vehicles, including electrical, mechanical, and structural upfits.
  • Follow work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications to complete assigned tasks accurately.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during the installation or modification process.
  • Conduct functional tests to verify that all installed components operate correctly and meet requirements.
  • Report and address any discrepancies or challenges encountered during projects.
  • Inspect work to ensure it meets company and customer standards for quality and functionality.
  • Maintain attention to detail to prevent rework or defects.
  • Document completed tasks and maintain accurate records as required.
  • Work closely with fellow technicians, the Lead Technician, and other departments to complete projects on time.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure alignment of project requirements and expectations.
  • Provide input on potential improvements to processes and workflows.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow company policies to minimize risk.
  • Stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry standards.
