About The Position

The Technician II, Maintenance is an on-site maintenance specialist responsible for direct repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance of production equipment to improve production line utilization. The role diagnoses and resolves complex equipment breakdowns, establishes preventive maintenance schedules, and provides technical guidance and hands-on training to junior technicians. It involves working closely with production teams and external vendors, maintaining technical records, and following safety and 5S practices. The position is based at LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc. in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of maintenance experience in a production or factory environment, including hands-on field repairs.
• High school diploma or GED, or a higher degree.
• Exposure to dry-room environments requiring gowning and PPE.
• Technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Ability to properly and regularly use safety glasses and steel-toed shoes for periods of up to 12 hours.
• Ability to repeatedly lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; stoop, twist, bend, reach overhead, and sit and/or stand for periods of up to 12 hours.
• Hands-on skills, troubleshooting ability, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or relevant work experience.
• Vocational certification, such as journeyperson certification.
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace parts, and modify production equipment and control systems, including PLCs, to maintain normal operation.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on-site and promptly address hazards identified during the work.
• Coordinate in real time with the production department to resolve urgent equipment breakdowns and manage work schedules.
• Document repair and maintenance history using daily reports and checklists; analyze MES log data to identify causes and prevent recurring issues.
• Consult with external vendors about complex malfunctions and establish and manage on-site work schedules.
• Provide hands-on technical training and work guidance to new and junior technicians.
• Wear required PPE, maintain a safe work environment, and keep the workspace orderly according to 5S principles.
