About The Position
The Maintenance Technician II independently performs senior-level support within the maintenance department. The role uses advanced or senior technician-level skills and knowledge to carry out tasks in the employee’s primary function, while beginning training in other maintenance functions as a multi-skilled technician. The technician may help train Maintenance Technician I employees.
Requirements
- Knowledge of and ability to use basic power tools.
- Ability to apply appropriate hand and measuring tools in an industrial setting.
- One of the following: high school diploma and 5+ years of experience; relevant certificate and 3+ years of experience; or an associate technical degree and 1+ year of experience.
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Windows.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to AbbVie’s code of conduct.
- Maintain department assets to ensure reliable equipment and meet quality standards.
- Assist with root cause investigations and reliability-centered maintenance analysis.
- Train others on tasks.
- Begin demonstrating proficiency in multiple skilled trade disciplines.
- Perform advanced-level tasks while fully proficient in the core function.
- Assist cross-functional teams outside the maintenance organization.
- Support continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or site.
- Understand and follow all safety and GMP regulations.
