About The Position
The Technician II (Formulation) formulates custom oligonucleotides according to customer specifications. Work generally includes quantification, final packaging, and quality-control sampling of products. The role uses automated and manual laboratory equipment and translates order requirements into a formulation process, then reviews QC data to determine whether oligos pass or fail. The position is on site with the Long Oligo Value Stream in Coralville, Iowa, and works Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Some laboratory experience.
- Proficiency with a variety of PC software programs and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Nice To Haves
- An associate degree or higher.
- 12 months of laboratory experience; life science work experience is preferred.
- Extensive computer skills, including knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Responsibilities
- Use automated and manual laboratory equipment accurately, including limited maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Translate order requirements into a process for formulating oligos to customer specifications.
- Assess QC data accurately and make pass/fail decisions for oligos.
- Quantify, package, and take QC samples of formulated products.
