About The Position

This position is an entry-level laboratory and manufacturing support role responsible for preparing samples for analysis and performing basic metallurgical testing. Working under the supervision of a Group Leader, this individual will support testing, data collection, and sample preparation activities while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous manufacturing, production, fabrication, machining, or industrial experience.
Experience operating saws, drill presses, machine tools, or similar equipment.
Experience working with metallurgical or laboratory equipment.
Basic knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, and testing methods.
Forklift experience or certification.
Demonstrated attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Prepare material samples for metallurgical analysis and examination.
Perform mechanical testing using standard equipment, including hardness, tensile, tension, magnetic, and resistivity testing.
Conduct metallographic testing utilizing polishing equipment, etchants, and other laboratory equipment.
Collect, record, and maintain accurate test data and evaluation results.
Operate basic metallurgical and laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
Support operations within Mechanical Testing, Preparation, Metallographic Testing, Magnetic Testing, or Heat Treating areas.
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve departmental goals.
Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned.
