Technician I Behavioral Health
About The Position
As a Behavioral Health Tech I, you will help support the successful treatment and rehabilitation of patients through anticipating needs, effective communication, and compassionate care. The role is in the Chemical Dependency department at the Greece Clinic and is scheduled Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This is a full-time position. You will provide individual direct care and clinical services, including activities of daily living and social and psychiatric rehabilitation as directed by the RN. You will communicate with patients, help ensure access to required services, and report patient changes to the RN. The role also includes department cleaning and upkeep, stocking supplies, checking treatment-room equipment, assisting with setup and procedures, and documenting patient responses to treatment.
Requirements
- One year of clinical experience in a patient care setting or related experience.
- Compassionate, warm, and patient-focused approach.
- Critical-thinking skills and decisive judgment, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual direct care and clinical services to patients, including activities of daily living and social and psychiatric rehabilitation as directed by the RN.
- Communicate effectively with patients and ensure they have access to required services.
- Inform the RN of changes in a patient's condition.
- Clean and maintain the department, including patient rooms and equipment.
- Stock required supplies and check equipment in treatment rooms.
- Assist with setup, procedures, and evaluation.
- Document patient responses to treatment concisely, pertinently, and completely.
