About The Position

New Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the Processing Department as a Gold Room - Technician. This role involves driving the Concentrate Truck for pick-up and delivery of Knelson Concentrates to the Gold Room, ensuring efficient movement of materials between the SAG Milling Circuit and the Gold Room. The technician will also support Gold Room Operations by participating in routine activities such as monitoring and controlling material flow, stripping of electro winning cells, retorting, smelting, and preparations for ore bars shipment.

Requirements

Current license and competent for operating heavy duty trucks preferably twin steers or Mack/Kenworth trucks
Valid Police Clearance that is current and must have no criminal records
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to changing work requirements and working long hours as required
PNG Nationals
Available to start immediately

Desire to learn other gold room activities to support the Gold Room Operations by participating in routine activities

Responsibilities

Ensure timely and efficient collection and delivery of the Knelson Concentrates from the SAG Milling circuit to the Refinery circuit for processing in the gold room
Fully participate in all Gold Room activities and completing tasks as allocated by the Gold Room Supervisors
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and Gold Security Standards (GSS)
Collaborate with Gold Room Supervisors, Metallurgists, Operational leadership team and APD to ensure effective communications established to avoid any delays to collection, transportation of the Knelson Concentrates to the Gold Room
Conduct without fail pre-start checks on the Knelson Concentrate Truck and ensure any faults or issues identified are reported immediately to Supervisor to ensure truck is available and safe to operate continuously
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and communications across all work groups
Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health rules and procedures
