Technician, General Facilities Maintenance
About The Position
Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures. This includes inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment, observing and documenting wear and tear, recommending repair or replacement needs, and documenting all preventive maintenance activities. The role also involves performing major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. This includes diagnosing issues using blueprints and repair manuals, dismantling equipment, and responding to emergency calls. The technician will manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as Walmart's quality and safety standards. Additionally, the role requires demonstrating expertise in action plans, building partnerships, implementing business solutions, and modeling compliance with company policies and values. The position emphasizes respect for individuals, integrity, customer service, and striving for excellence through continuous improvement and a growth mindset.
Requirements
- Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade OR 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program.
- License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located.
- Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
